Election Integrity Update - 1/18/2025

Colton_arrestedOn last Saturday’s Election Integrity Update, we discussed the opening week of the 2025 Georgia legislative session and what’s new this session.  Michael Gargiulo (Senator Colton Moore’s Chief of Staff) and Representatives Charlice Byrd and Noelle Kahaian joined VoterGA’s Garland Favorito for an in-depth discussion of the events surrounding Moore’s assault and arrest after he attempted to attend the State of the State address. Garland shared the details behind a 2014 VoterGA press release regarding Representative Ralston’s dubious past that provided context for the reason Moore was banned from entering the House chamber.

Mallory Staples, executive director of the Georgia Freedom Caucus, reviewed their Path to Prosperity. She was joined by Representative Byrd to describe their plans and challenges for the 2025 legislative session.  And Tania Sosa told us about Week 1 tracking election integrity legislation.

P.S.  The unethical prosecution of Tina Peters resulted in an unprecedented 9-year prison sentence for the victimless “crime” of having an IT professional observe a Dominion Voting System upgrade in 2021. Click here to petition Colorado Governor Polis to correct this wrong.
