Garland discussed the dramatic premier of the movie 2000 Mules and how it will affect Georgia elections. He invited folks to join him for the movie’s debut at VoterGA Northwest headquarters in Ringgold on Saturday, May 7th at 8:00 p.m. Lisa Kaminsky provided an update on VoterGA’s outreach at movie showings across Georgia. Early voting for the 2022 primary election started last week with many problems including several that impacted voting statewide. Garland explained these issues on Saturday’s Election Integrity Update and compiled information on additional problems during the call. VoterGA will assist in tracking and resolving these issues during the primary election. If you’re interested in assisting, call or text VoterGA at (404) 777-0067.
Garland also reviewed VoterGA’s oral argument on the Fulton County counterfeit ballot case that was heard last week. The judges on the appeals panel read our brief and asked good questions; he responded to attendee questions about the hearing.
Karen Carlisle provided an update on the upcoming South Georgia Election Integrity Conference in Valdosta May 9th. Garland and other GEIC leaders will equip folks to make a difference in election integrity at the local level. There’s still time to register; click here for more information.

On a personal note… Sunday afternoon we learned one of our election integrity activists was in the Intensive Care Unit at Northside-Cherokee Hospital and not expected to survive. Larry Hough’s dear wife Pam was at his bedside when I arrived, and I took time to pray for both. Garland and Dana Forehand joined me shortly after, and we spent the evening talking with Pam. She shared this picture of Larry and their son Brandon. Marcia Cox came to visit as the three of us were leaving. Please join me in prayer for Pam in the coming days, that the Lord would comfort her as she grieves.
But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)
