Dear Friends of Liberty,
By now you probably have heard that the GOP has embraced a great expansion of federal control in health care through the Medicare legislation now winding its way through Congress. It is ironic that less than a decade ago the same party that gained momentum raising money to stand against such policies advocated by the Clintons has now unequivocally embraced the core principle -- federal government control of medical treatment. But there is one national political party who has stood strong against the unconstitutional expansion of federal power into the health care industry then and now -- the Constitution Party!
The Constitution Party platform addresses the issue of health care as follows: The Constitution Party opposes the governmentalization and bureaucratization of American medicine. Government regulation and subsidy constitutes a threat to both the quality and availability of patient-oriented health care and treatment.
Hospitals, doctors, and other health care providers should be accountable to patients — not to politicians, insurance bureaucrats, or HMO Administrators...
(http://www.constitutionparty.org/ustp-99p1.html#Healthcare) Contrast this position to the Republican's false opposition to the expansion of federal government power. Mr. Holleran of The Heartland Institute chronicles this betrayal in his article "Bush's Medicare Plan Is Hillary Clinton's Triumph." His analysis of the Republican's Medicare proposals, as well as the Republican's excuses of why they must "compromise" with the socialist Democrats on this issue, are a welcome addition to the discussion over prescription drug benefits for the elderly.
How long will concerned citizens put up with the fraud and duplicity of the Republicans? When will they realize that root of such actions is rooted in the protection of political power by throwing principle overboard to buy swing votes in the 2004 elections?
The Constitution Party stands ready to oppose such an expansion of federal power to control health care. With your support now we can build on the momentum against such socialist policies by building an independent political bulwark against the current political duopoly. Become a member today!
With a vision of victory,
-Ricardo Davis State Chairman
