Constitution Party Supports Rally against the North American Union

The Constitution Party of Georgia urges patriotic citizens to participate in a rally against the proposed North American Union on the steps of the Capitol Building in downtown Atlanta at noon on Saturday, Nov. 17.

The North American Union is the goal of plans that would abdicate United States sovereignty by establishing open borders with both Mexico and Canada. The rally will include a march from the Capitol to the CNN Center. Participants are encouraged to bring American flags to the rally.

Ricardo Davis, State Chairman of the Constitution Party of Georgia, will represent the party and be one of the speakers at the event. Davis said, “The goals of the Security and Prosperity Partnership are not some wild conspiracy theory. The SPP is a covert takeover of America by government leaders in the United States, Canada, and Mexico in collaboration with unelected and unaccountable ‘working groups’ who are ‘integrating’ and ‘harmonizing’ policies and regulations between the three nations without any public forum or legislative oversight. The goal is to provide the foundation for a transition to a North American Union similar to the European supranational government. One stated result is ‘labor mobility’ throughout North America – is it any wonder President Bush and his open-borders supporters will not enforce the law against illegal immigration?”

Davis also noted that just because our President and both major political parties will not get serious about protecting our nation against foreign invasion does not mean the states and our communities must endure the havoc caused by illegal immigration. “If President Bush will not uphold his oath of office to obey the Constitution and defend the nation, then every city councilman, mayor, county commissioner, and every elected representative in the state’s three branches of government must act to make every county in Georgia least desirable for illegal immigrants. Every businessman must look to the welfare of their community and refuse to knowingly hire lawbreakers; through their chamber of commerce they must promote a drug-free and illegal alien-free workforce.”

Raymond Herrera, National Rally Spokesperson with The Minuteman Project will lay the case to reject the North American Union. Other participating organizations include the Atlanta Minuteman Project, Americans Have Had Enough, Legal American Folks, the Lone Protester, the North Carolina Minuteman Patriots, and Freedom Fighter Radio.

Similar rallies are planned for Saturday in Chicago, Clearwater, FL, Houston, Los Vegas, Los Angeles, New York, Sacramento, and Yakima, WA.

The platform of the Constitution Party specifically provides that “... the Constitution be obeyed to prohibit the United States government from entering any treaty, or other agreement, which makes any commitment of American military forces or tax money, compromises the sovereignty of the United States, or accomplishes a purpose properly the subject of domestic law. In this connection we specifically denounce the agreement establishing the proposed Free Trade Area of the Americas (FTAA) and any other such trade agreements, either bi-lateral or regional in nature. All treaties must be subordinate to the Constitution, since the Constitution is the only instrument which empowers and limits the federal government.”
