October 2015 CP-Ga Update - Local Elections and More

Fall has arrived, and activity has picked up significantly since our September update. The Constitution Party of Georgia (CP-Ga) is committed to recruiting, training, and supporting fellow citizens who share our principles to participate in all aspects of civil governance – from voters to elected officials, and everything in between. The CP-Ga is focused on building strong local party organizations; this Update provides a glimpse into our progress. You can also like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter to get updates. We covet your prayers as we work to build an explicitly Christian political movement here in Georgia.

Town Hall Event:  Monthly CP-Ga Statewide Conference Call

The next Tele-Town Hall event will be held Saturday, October 10 at 9:00 a.m. RSVP today at the CP-Ga website to get the conference call information.  State Chairman Ricardo Davis will provide an overview of the party, address current events, and answer questions.  This is a great opportunity to introduce your friends to the party.  Just RSVP and include your friends.

Party Building:  New Gwinnett and Cobb County Contacts

The first step in building the party in a local community is for a concerned citizen who has become a member to serve as a Party Local Contact (PLC).  The PLC’s primary responsibility is to answer basic questions about the CP-Ga and keep folks up-to-date on party happenings.  This month we welcome Tricia and Ronne to the team of PLCs!

Cherokee County:  Colleen Konwick
Cobb County:  Tricia Hay
Columbia/Richmond Counties:  Paul Lovett
Gwinnett County:  Ronne Haag
We’ll post their contact information on the PLC page on the CP-Ga web site soon.  In the meantime if you want to get in touch with any of the PLCs then use the Contact Us page on the web site or call (404) 994-3586.

Party Building:  Website Upgrade Moneybomb

As we noted in the September 2015 Update we have moved our party’s management infrastructure to NationBuilder.com.  The new GAConstitutionParty.org is more than just another web site; it will increase the productivity of our activists by providing a constituent management platform while consolidating other services and thus decreasing our operational costs.  The platform is built with a mobile-responsive design, which means you can now use our web site effectively from your smart phone or tablet computer.  And social media is a core part of the platform, which means party communications via Facebook and Twitter can be managed from the same place.

This upgrade has resulted in the following benefits:  a 9.4% increase in our contacts, a greatly reduced response time for contacts to the party, and an easier membership management process.

A number of you responded to the Website Upgrade Moneybomb where $175 in pledges were made to help pay for the $600 in expenses of the upgrade.  Many thanks for your pledge!  If you haven’t donated yet then do so using our secure donation page or mail your donation to:  Constitution Party of Georgia, Attn: Website Upgrade, P.O. Box 2153, Woodstock, GA  30188.

We still need $425 by Friday, October 23 to continue the gains in growing our base and improving our communications.  Please donate today!

Activist Training:  FACL Political Leadership School – Kennesaw

Supporters of the CP-Ga from as far south as Columbus joined TEA party, pro-life, 2nd Amendment, and other conservative activists from all around Georgia to participate in the Foundation for Applied Conservative Leadership (FACL) Political Leadership School hosted by the Canton TEA Party.  In all 54 folks were engaged as Ted Patterson explained the basics of political leadership and provided tools and tactics for victory.  There were a number of group exercises during this all day class to help activists prepare for victory at the grassroots level.  The CP-Ga will continue to partner with FACL and other patriots here in Georgia to host additional trainings in the coming months.

Elections Update:  Jeff Rayno for Pooler City Council

Party member and former Chatham County Commissioner Jeff Rayno is running a competitive campaign for one of the six seats on the Pooler City Council.  With early voting starting next week the campaign is in high gear preparing for its get out the vote (GOTV).  A Rayno win be the first CP-Ga local victory, and we’re asking all our supporters to help make it a success.  Your donations help with GOTV expenses, you can give online or mail a check to Jeff Rayno Committee, 3 Stone Gate Court, Pooler, GA 31322.  Jeff also needs volunteer help – including remote help for phone calling, etc.  Please sign up online or call (912) 507-1901.

Elections Update:  Ballot Access Lawsuit Update

The lawsuit against the State of Georgia that the CP-Ga and the Georgia Green Party filed is still working its way through the federal courts.  The objective in this case is to remove the ballot access restrictions for the 2016 Presidential race similar to what was accomplished in Florida and Tennessee.  State Chairman Ricardo Davis and Elections Director Garland Favorito recently responded to interrogatories from the State of Georgia regarding the party’s ballot access efforts.  We are thankful for the efforts of the legal team members Laughlin McDonald, Mike Raffauf, and Richard Winger.  Please keep this matter in your prayers.
